Suggest a better description1. Combine milk, cloves, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and cinnamon in a saucepan,mand heat over lowest setting. Slowly bring milk mixture to almost boiling but don't allow to boil.
2. In a large bowl, combine egg yolks and sugar. Whisk together until fluffy.
3. Whisk hot milk mixture slowly in to egg mixture. Pour mixture into a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly for 3 minutes or until thick. Do not allow mixture to boil.
4. Strain to remove cloves and let cool for about 1 hour.
5. Stir in rum, cream, 2 tablespoons vanilla and nutmeg. Mix well. Refrigerate over night before serving.
I put the eggnog through the blender just before serving. I makes it just a bit lighter and awake again after sitting all night.
