Suggest a better descriptionin a large pot....
saute olive oil, onion and carrot for 3 minutes
add thyme and marjoram and saute for 1 more minute
add stock, lentils, tomatoes and parsley
salt to taste
cook in covered pot until lentils are done (45 minutes)
add sherry (This really makes it great!)
place 2 T of grated cheese in each bowl and top with soup
serve with a hot crusty loaf of bread
