This is a favorite amoungst my family members. It actually came from my mom's mom (grandma) who was from the "south" (Florida).
Mix the eggs, vanilla and blended (maybe add a dash of water to blend). Add oil to large skillet and heat, not too hot just enough for the frying operation (I use a med setting on my elec stove.) You can always check the oil temp by dropping a couple drops of the egg batter into the oil. When the oil is hot take your frozen bread and slice it into halfs (I cut diagonally, frozen makes it easier to handle with the batter), slightly fold the flower into the egg batter mix ( actually the lumpier the better it is). Set 4 - 1/2 pieces of bread into the batter (more with a larger mixing bowl and skillet) with the flower and evenly cover (it will be lumpy). Being careful of the hot oil set the 4 - 1/2 pieces into cooking oil and let brown, when browning is achieved flip over and then sprinkle Cinnamon Sugar onto the top side now (you can sprinkle both sides but expect it to make the first side a darker brown since the Cinnamon Sugar will brown). When both sides are evenly brown remove and set on plate with paper towels to drain. I set them angled against each other so it drains down. While hot sprinkle Powered Sugar over the pieces to liken.
I said before that I don't cook healthy and this certainly is not a healthy dish, but it's sure to please the ones who eat it. I didn't mention syrup since some of my family also like just putting jellies or jams onto of this, I've even had one person request vanilla ice cream on top! My favorite is with syrup and a couple two or three eggs (sunny side up or over easy) on top so I can use it for dipping the yolks. Enjoy!
