Suggest a better descriptionHeat oven to 160/ fan 140/ gas 3
Cream butter and muscovado sugar (can use food processor to speed this)
Mix in the egg
Sift over flour, baking powder and spices
Fold together then stir in the apple chunks
Pour batter into buttered, base lined, 20cm spring form cake tin
Bake for 1 hr or until risen and browned
Combine honey and Demerara and spread over cake while still warm
I have found cooking time can be longer than stated, check with a knife but be aware apples make this a very moist cake
Keeps for 3-4 days wrapped in foil
