S. Carolina low country. don't overcook ingredients

put potatoes and sausage in lg stock pot. squeeze one lemon and throw halves in pot. add seasoning, onion, garlic head, bay leaves and can of beer.
add water, bring to boil, cook 15 min or till potatoes fork tender.
keep water at low simmer, add corn, and 5 min later add shrimp. let boil another 3-4 min till pink. remove from heat
drain and pour onto table covered with newspaper. sprinkle extra seasoning on top.
serve w/ melted butter. lemon wedges and hot sauce (preferably Crystal or Louisiana)
