Tex-Mex-seasoned fish patties, breaded with tortilla chips and served with typical sides.
Mix minced fish with jalapeno, onions, garlic, egg, cumin, dill, salt, pepper and lime juice (or even better, pass whole fish fillets through a grinder yourself, along with onions and jalapeno) to a fairly smooth batter.
Shape the mix into small patties of equal size.
Use the crushed chips as breading, dipping the patties thoroughly.
Fry patties in oil until golden brown.
Serve with appropriate side dishes, such as rice, guacamole and pico de gallo
Make sure everything is quite cold since this makes shaping patties a lot easier. If the batter is too lose, sift and fold some breadcrumbs in.
