Fresh tart mango, creamy avocado, tangy lime with a flash of spice. This is a wonderful summer salad.

2 mediumMangos; Ripe and fresh
2 mediumAvocados; firm, not squishy
4 mediumLettuce leaves
-- Lime Dressing --
4 tablespoonsKey Lime juice; - about 4 limes (not Persian limes)
1/4 teaspoonSalt
1 pinchCayenne pepper; - to taste
1 tablespoonSesame Oil; - dark (toasted)
3 tablespoonsCanola oil; - or other light flavored oil
-- Garnish --
1 tablespoonKey lime zest; - grated

Mango - Avocado Salad Preparation

1. Peel and dice mangos into 1/2 inch cubes

2. Halve, seed, and peel avocado. Dice into 1/2 inch cubes

3. Mix gently together and drizzle with Lime Dressing.

4. Place on lettuce leaves, sprinkle with lime rind and serve at once.

Lime Dressing: In a small bowl mix lime juice, salt, and cayenne. Using a whisk or fork, gradually beat in the oil until well combined.

Family loved this summer salad. Omitted the cayenne pepper. Added a teaspoon of sugar to the dressing. Drizzled dressing over the plated salad and topped with chopped fresh cilantro.

We couldn't add the cayenne due to allergy, but we enjoyed this even though we don't care much for mango. It wasn't as sweet as we'd feared. The dark sesame oil really came through and brought the flavors together.

We used 1/2 tsp salt and added a Truvia packet to the dressing. Worked well with canned mango.
