A rich, thick treat.

"I haven't made this yet but I will soon. I am 68 yrs. old and I remember my Mom making this for me when I was a very young child. I had almost forgot about it until I saw it here. Thanks for the memory. I will review it again after I make it but I'm sure it will be a great treat!"

3/4 cup Sugar
1/3 cup Flour
3 tablespoon Cocoa
1 pinch salt
2 cups milk
2 tablespoon Butter
1/4 teaspoon Vanilla
1 can Biscuits

Original recipe makes 4 Servings

Mix dry ingredients well (sugar, flour, cocoa, salt). Add 2 cups of milk and cook, stirring constantly over medium heat until you get a thick gravy consistency. Remove from heat and add the butter and the vanilla, stirring to melt butter. Serve over hot, buttered biscuits. Makes 4 servings. Kids of all ages love this for breakfast!

It was okay. It turned out more like a pudding than gravy but it soothed my sweet tooth.

Wonderful recipe! Chocolate gravy has been a favorite of mine since childhood and is very popular throughout Tennessee. This recipe immediately caught my eye. So I made it and as expected, it turned out quite well--simply yummy!
