To make this a completely healthy meal, serve over spaghetti squash rather than pasta!
Cuisine: italian Main Ingredient: Ground Turkey
no01idea ,Almost a year later and we make this recipe at least 3 times a month. We make it into Meatballs, hamburgers (husband won't eat any other hamburger now), and meatloaf.8y
mmajoli ,I used a cookie dropper to do the portions. The mixture seemed runny but after cooking in the oven they turned out firm and fabulous. Great recipe, I also substituted milk with rice milk and used only breadcrumbs and no oat. Will definitely do it again.9y
no01idea ,This is my new go to meatball recipe. The first time I made it just as the recipe states, and it was not runny and made perfect meatballs and were nice and juicy, the second time I read reviews and decided to add more breadcrumbs, and to my family they were a little dry. FYI, makes a GREAT turkey burger (just cook in patty shape in oven).9y
mistikaldarkhope ,I read the reviews prior to making these and I took the advice of others. I didn't add the 1/2 cup of beef broth to the meatballs but I did add an additional 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs. I did not have 2 lbs of turkey so I made mine 1/2 turkey and 1/2 ground beef. They were fantastic! The entire family loved them. The fresh parsley is a must. It added so much flavor. We will definitely make these again.10y
trainguy ,I should have put more bread crumbs in to firm them up. when I baked them they turned into meat "patties" so I chopped them up and added them to the sauce. I also used Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning and salad dressing mix instead of parmesan. All of this made a fantastic spaghetti sauce, my family said it was the best ever.10y
missjess87 ,I make this all the time. You can sub out the dairy for almond or soy milk and its amazing!!11y
jillrussack ,The recipe as follows was too watery so I added about 3/4 cup more breadcrumbs. I also did not have beef broth so I used one cup of chicken broth and a splash of soy sauce. I baked them in a marinara sauce layer for 25 minutes...came out DELICIOUS. I may use 1/2 cup of broth next time so I can use less breadcrumb but overall, these were great!11y
srbodlak ,Oh yeah, these ARE good! With the one cup of bread crumbs in addition to the oatmeal, they shaped up nicely. I also made a meatloaf with part of the meat, which baked about 35 minutes.11y
erikawasielewski ,The flavor is great on these! However, mine were really loose. I ended up with patties instead of balls because there was no way to shape them. But because they are so tasty I plan to make again. Thanks!11y
noramariecunning ,Makes a lot so i used half for balls and made half into a loaf. So yummy,11y
summerobaby ,I just tried this recipe tonight and it was delish! I did not have beef broth so I skipped it in the mix and baked the meatballs over spaghetti sauce in the oven. I also used skim milk instead. My fiancée loved it and so did I. Great recipe to make on a busy work night since it is so fast, easy and pretty healthy.12y
lmconstable ,I found this recipe very 'loose'. Next time I would use less liquids... Still tasty though!12y
akayj424 ,so moist and delicious! I didn't have oregano, parsley or basil - so I just used a bunch of Italian spices in place.12y
thegreatgwendini ,We love these! My 5 year old daughter helps roll them which makes it fun too. I skip using cheese but do use seasoned breadcrumbs.12y
jwhung ,I didn't have basil or nutmeg, and substituted chicken broth for beef stock. And I only had 1.5lbs of ground turkey so made some adjustments. It still came out pretty good, a tad salty but that probably because I eyeball everything.13y
chameray ,I've had so many compliments on this recipe. The meatballs stayed so juicy and fresh and not dried out. Although my ingredients varied a little more from this recipe, I may post my own.14y
pkjjfdb ,I made a batch and froze them on a cookie sheet prior to the cooking stage, then stored in a freezer bag. Now I can take out as many as I need, thaw and bake. Tastes fresher than freezing after cooking.14y
morganwood ,The orginal recipe called for bread crumbs (instead of oatmeal), eggs (instead of Egg Beaters) and ground chuck (rather than ground turkey). I've made the changes to make it a bit more healthy, but these are great both ways. On "cooking marathon" days, I'll triple the recipe and fill the freezer. A cookie dropper or portioning scoop really helps the shaping go faster. [I posted this recipe.]14y
